CHINALCO MINING – WATER FACILITIES

Minera Chinalco operates the mining concession of the Toromocho project, located in the Junin region, province of Yauli, district of Morococha, at 4500 meters above sea level. Copper extraction is its main activity as a strategic partner for compliance with environmental commitments in effluent discharges from domestic wastewater treatment plants and the delivery of drinking water to the new town of Morococha and its mining camps in compliance with DS-031-2010-MINSA.

The technology used in these treatment plants is activated sludge, sequential biological reactors, conventional filtration, and reverse osmosis.
