Through well-designed and efficiently implemented regulatory frameworks, we can protect our water resources, ensure their equitable and sustainable use, and guarantee that all human beings have access to drinking water and sanitation. In this regard, to face the challenges of the present and future, water management must be a priority on political agendas at the local, national, and global levels.
Water management
The projected increase in the world’s population will mean a greater demand for water for agriculture, industry, and domestic consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to find innovative solutions that allow us to optimize water management and make more efficient use of our water resources.
The world is becoming more and more urban, posing new and difficult challenges for urban water management. Today, around 55% of the world’s 4.2 billion people live in cities. This trend is expected to continue; by 2050, the urban population will double and almost 7 out of 10 people will live in urban centers. In this sense, on World Cities Day, we at Almar Water Solutions want to highlight the role that the cities of the future, Smart Cities, play in water management.
The water sector is getting ‘smart’ to provide innovative services and solve problems with automation, data collection and analysis. Almar Water Solutions, through its subsidiary Datakorum, is committed to digital solutions and IoT products and services to manage its water treatment plants.
