The session focused on translating EU policies into actionable water reuse strategies through effective regulation, sustainable investments, and strong public-private collaboration.<\/p>\n
Carlos Cos\u00edn shared key data on the progress of reuse in Spain and Andalusia. The region increased its annual volume of regenerated wastewater from 17 hm\u00b3 in 2019 to 70 hm\u00b3 in 2024, with projections of 180 hm\u00b3 by 2027\u2014thanks to over \u20ac400 million invested in infrastructure. He also highlighted Spain\u2019s leadership in the field, with reuse rates reaching up to 98% in some regions and the recent enactment of Royal Decree 1085\/2024, which promotes replacing conventional water sources with reclaimed water.<\/p>\n
